About AcornPipe

Iso-Express software was released by Acorn Systems in 1986. It soon became a favorite of pipe fabricators across North America. Fabricators quickly found that their feedback was being taken seriously, and requested features were added promptly. APSI was incorporated in 1996, by which time John Young was already a familiar face at fab shops across the country.

In 1999, APSI formed a strategic alliance with Mitre Software Corporation who developed a completely new, Windows-based program capitalizing on John Young's experience. After four years of development, AcornPipe was released in 2003.

Mitre's practice of listening to its users and responding quickly to their needs has led to dozens of enhancements to the software every year. Many of the suggestions arise out of questions along the lines of "how do I do this?...".

Frequent visits to distant fabricators have been replaced by online meetings, but the tradition of prompt and expert technical support continues to keep Mitre close to its users and sensitive to their needs.

Mitre now distributes and supports its piping software directly under the name SpoolFab ™.
